Sightron SII Big Sky 6.5-20X50 LRMOA

Sightron has really stepped their game with these new gen Side Parallax Adj 1″ tube scopes. Optical qualities are superb and rival scopes costing a whole lot more. I feel image quality is better then any scope at the same price point. I am presently using this scope on my Savage 223 Tactical rifle and it has been a joy to use.

Eye relief is HUGE allowing for plenty of room when shooting a hard kicker. Tracking has also been excellent on these scopes and the turrents have easy to read markings. Clicks are a bit light in touch and sound but they are quite precise. There is lots of elevation and windage adj even with the 1″ tube.

How about 20 mins per turrent revolution? That’s cool.

The image quality at full mag is superb with excellent edge clarity. The side parallax and objective focus work really well together and allow a very clear image and crisp reticle. Quality that challenges some very pricey 30mm scopes.

However, when you dial back to low mag, there is some edge distortion and curvature. The central image is still excellent so this is a fair compromise given the price point. This is also not objectionable as the central image is where most will view their target.

Many LR shooters are enjoying the benefits of “picket fence” reticles and the LRMOA reticle is one of the best. Spacing is 2moa at 20X allowing the shooter to enjoy proper subtension at a very useable mag range. The small central dot is ideal for centering on targets like Clay pigeons, or Gophers.

I use this reticle on my F Class rifles and really enjoy how effective it is in quick windage and/or elevation changes.

This compact and light scope is ideal for the hunter, varminter or tactical shooter that wants a decent amount of magnification but not a big heavy package.
